Today P3/4B and P4T enjoyed a visit from RHET. A farmhouse breakfast was prepared by the kitchen staff and served by Clare and Ali. It was very enjoyable and tasty! Clare spoke about the benefits of a healthy breakfast to start the day. This was part of the competition the pupils won organised by RHET. Also, as a result of being finalists, pupils get a paid visit to a local farm, Middlestots, in May.
Twenty children from P4 – 7 travelled to Hawick on Wednesday the 19th of March to represent Duns Primary School in the regional competition for the recitation and instrumentation of ’The works of Robert Burns’. The standard was very high among the 10 schools, from all over the Borders, taking part. Jemima Bevan P5L received an award for coming first in the P4/5 instrumental section, playing ‘My Love is Like a Red Red Rose’, on her trumpet.
Isla Grieve P7H came first in the P6/7 instrumental section for ‘A Man’s a Man’, on the bagpipes. and Jaydon Waddell was awarded 3rd place for singing of ‘Duns Ding ‘A’. They all did very well and were a credit to our school.
